Now let’s get on with the next 5 wedding planning checklists:

Wedding Planning Checklist #6 – Do It Yourself Wedding Reception Checklist

Now days anything goes for a wedding reception. Some people have a couple receptions catering to families in different locations. In a few months time, hubby and I are attending a 2nd reception in Scotland for a cousin that was married in Australia earlier this year. Some of the family were able to make it out to Australia and others could make it to Scotland (hubby cousins’ home town). The great thing about 2 receptions is that you can have one more formal and the other more grass roots!

The one thing, however, that must be noted about DIY wedding receptions is that there are a ton of tasks that need to be covered. As the bride, you’ll want to organize and then delegate as much as possible. Your job is to look beautiful, feel beautiful and let everyone else around you do all the work! It’s your special day and you have the ability to make sure it stays that way.

The wedding reception venue checklist provided in ‘The Top 10 Wedding Planning Checklist’ provides a 4 page checklist included every element necessary to cater for with a DIY reception.

Wedding Planning Checklist #7 – Getting The Perfect Wedding Cake Checklist

At my wedding, I must admit I had the very worst wedding cake ever. A week before I was due to be married I finished my University degree in New York. I then flew over to England with my wedding dress in my carry-on. Everything else could get lost, but not the dress! Hubby-to-be had to arrange the ceremony, reception and even the cake. When he asked me what kind of cake I wanted, I just said to get a traditionally wedding cake. I assumed it would be sponge cake with some sort of frosting.

Actually -I wasn’t too worried about the cake. From my perspective I had too many larger issues to take care of. When it finally came to cutting the cake I was horrified to discover that a traditional English wedding cake is a fruitcake! Can you believe that – a freaking fruitcake. I had a bite and then took a gulp of champagne to get it down. Yuck!

Anyway – here are just a few items to find on a wedding cake checklist: Determine your budget, will your venue allow a cake from an external baker, get an idea as to what type/style of cake you want, create a list of bakers specializing in wedding cakes to short-list, check bakers availability for your wedding date, ask for price examples and payment terms, any transportation or set-up fees, any cake cutting fees, are the cake knife and stand provided by the baker, are toast glasses provided by the baker, what are the guarantee, insurance and cancellation terms and on and on this list goes! Who would have thought there were so many considerations for the wedding cake!

Use a wedding cake checklist to ensure you cover all options and get the very best cake for your wedding! Here’s our wedding cake checklist. This checklist can also be found in an easy-to-fill out book format on Amazon here too as its part of The Top 10 Wedding Planning Checklists.

Wedding Planning Checklist #8 – Choosing A Wedding Photographer Checklist

When the amazing event is over all you have left are memories and your photographs. I’d like to say that it would be easy to remember the day, but for me and many others, it’s over in a blur. So many things happen that that go unregistered. Furthermore, between the nerves, excitement and face ache from your perm-a-grin, chances are that you’ll blink and the day will feel as if it’s over.

Getting quality photos is a massive importance. Preserving all the hard work and the face of the groom before the ‘I do,’ is serious business. I recently discovered that many brides now opt for a second shooter – that means that they have one main photographer and then a backup to ensure no memory goes unrecorded.

Finding the right photographer requires more than liking their past wedding shoots. There are several things to consider. Of course, cost is important and so are any deposit payments required. Furthermore, it’s important to find out if they have liability insurance if anything goes wrong. Another important factor is the inclusion of the pre-wedding, wedding, and reception shots. In fact, some photographers now offer special deals like free engagement shots if you hire them for the full wedding.

Wedding Planning Checklist #9 – Wedding Photograph Request Checklist

Hiring the wedding photographer isn’t the final item on your to-do list regarding the photos! Explaining to the photographer what photos are important to you is.

Think back to playing dress-up as a little girl. When you were playing ‘house’ what images came to mind? Pictures of you at an alter with a white dress or perhaps having your dad give you away? Did you imagine your mom, sister or friend helping you to get ready?

What about looking at yourself in a full length mirror admiring how everything all turned out? And how beautiful you feel? How about an image of your hubby-to-be looking excited yet seriously nervous? Or an image of the car leaving for the honeymoon saying ‘Just Married’ on it?

Capturing the memories that you’ve dreamed of won’t happen by chance. Use a wedding photograph request checklist to ensure your photographer gets the snaps that you always dreamed of.

We created a wedding photograph request checklist for CheckLisables but if you’d like to get all our checklists in an letter sized, easy-to-carry-around booklet, please purchase The Top 10 Wedding Planning Checklists on Amazon.com.

Wedding Planning Checklist #10 – Honeymoon Planning Checklist

And finally we get to the honeymoon. Awwwww – such a fantastic opportunity to start your new life off with your new hubby! When asking most married women about they’re honeymoon, they respond with smiles, love and happiness. Honeymoons are so exciting – the wedding has finally taken place and now it’s time to live happily ever after. At least that’s the hope!

A honeymoon planning checklist is very important. At first, you might think that it’s a simple task, but quite a few considerations need to be made. This isn’t just a vacation, it’s the vacation of a life-time.  That being said, you’ll want to make sure your choice of location as the best weather, the accommodation is spectacular and all your activity choices are catered for.

By using a honeymoon planning checklist, you’ll make sure that you select the best honeymoon and have everything in place when you leave.
