It’s not just the invites that are important for your upcoming wedding! No, no, no… There are loads of opportunities for you to create or have stationary created for you. In the below wedding stationary checklist we’ve included the common stationary options for you to consider.

Wedding Stationary Checklist

Save the date cards

  • Names of the bride and groom to be
  • Wedding date
  • Location (if you know it)
  • Text “Formal invitation to follow”

WEDDING INVITATION PARTS

Part 1: wedding invitation – formal invitation

  • Names of the hosts (usually the parents)
  • Names of the bride and groom
  • Date and time of ceremony
  • Address

Part 2: reception card

  • Date and time of the reception
  • Address 

Part 3: RSVP card

  • Text “Yes I/we will attend” or “No I/we cannot attend”
  • Text “Special meal request”
  • Text “Favorite sound to dance to:”

Part 4: RSVP envelop

  • Text – The return address
  • Stamp

Part 5: map and directions

  • Map to ceremony and reception
  • Directions to ceremony and reception
  • Nearby hotels and contact details

Rehearsal dinner invitations

  • Names of the hosts (usually the groom parents)
  • Names of the bride and groom
  • Date and time of the rehearsal dinner
  • Address
  • RSVP request

Wedding programs

  • Bride and Groom’s name
  • Date of the wedding
  • Names of the bridal party and relationship to the bride/groom
  • Order of events and times
  • Titles of readings and songs
  • Special notes – to honor deceased loved ones, words of thanks

Menus

  • Description of the meal
  • Explanation as to the why a particular item will be served (if there’s any significance)
  • Wine and beverage choices
  • Featured cocktails

SEATING CARDS

Table cards (to instruct guests as to what table they’re sitting at)

  • Guest name
  • Table number

Place card (to sit at the head of each place setting)

  • Guest Name

Favor cards (to tie onto favors like wedding candies or a framed picture)

  • The couple’s name
  • The wedding date

WHAT ELSE?

Thank you cards

  • Text – personal note inside
  • New address if you’re moving into a new house
