Travel Packing Checklist

When traveling its always worth using a travel packing checklist to make sure that you haven’t forgotten anything. I used to remember a forgotten item just a few hours after I left home! Make sure you pack according to your travel/holiday theme and always check the weather before you go. Be prepared for the unexpected and don’t rely on electronics holding crucial information such as plane ticket boarding passes just in case it runs out of juice!

• Accommodation booking and reservation confirmations (printed copy)
• Transfer vouchers
• Prepaid attraction tickets
• Passport (If traveling overseas)
• Visa
• Driving licence
• Travel insurance
• Home phone numbers written down
• Health documentation including vaccination booklet
• Emergency information
• Cash in the right currency(ies)
• Credit cards (inform companies that you’re traveling abroad)
• x 2/Travelers cheques

• Email yourself a photocopy of your passport, driving licence, medical cards and travel itinerary

At Home Before You Go

• Arrange for care of pets, lawn, house plants, garden, swimming pool
• Arrange for home security if you’re worried
• Empty refrigerator and garbage
• Turn off hot water
• Turn down heating
• Pre-pay bills (or ask a close friend to collect mail and pay bills for you)
• Turn off & unplug all non-essential appliances
• Lock all doors and windows
• Stop newspaper delivery
• Setup timed lights
