Kitchen Cleaning Checklist

I often find myself giving my kitchen a real deep clean 3 or 4 times every year. My issue is, however, that I often miss something out. I either forget about the freezer or don’t clean the light switches. With this Kitchen Cleaning Checklist, you’ll be able to check items off as you go and feel a real sense of accomplishment when you’re done. Not to mention that you’ll have a beautifully sparkly clean kitchen.

  • Gather cleaning supplies:
    • Oven cleaner
    • Appliance cleaners for coffee pot
    • Surface cleaner
    • Windex
    • Chrome polish
    • Floor polish
    • All purpose cleaner
    • Trash bags
    • Paper towel roll
    • Bucket filled with warm water and soap
  • Clear up the kitchen. Remove anything that doesn’t belong there, empty out the dishwasher and take out the trash.
  • Spray the oven with oven cleaner and leave it to soak.
  • Deep clean the dishwasher. Use a special cleaner or turn dial to self clean and leave empty.
  • Dust the ceiling, light figures and tops of cupboards, outside of fridge, etc. Start and the top and work down.
  • Dust to clean the walls, light switches, cabinets, running boards, heating vents, tables, chairs, and other fixtures.
  • Clean the windows, mirrors and pictures (with glass frames).
  • Clear out the cabinets. Throw out outdated food, wipe down and put food back.
  • Clean the fridge. Remove outdated food and wipe down/clean insides.
  • Clean the freezer. Remove outdated food and clean out compartments.
  • Clean microwave, toaster, coffee pot and any other appliance.
  • Clean the stove and oven (if ready).
  • Clean the extractor hood.
  • Wipe down counter tops and window sills.
  • Polish the sink and sink fixtures.
  • Vacuum the floor.
  • Wash the floor.
  • Pat yourself on your back for a job well done!

If there’s anything missing please do leave me a comment below and I’ll add it in. And if you’re thinking what about the spring cleaning the bathroom? We’ve got a separate checklist for the bathroom here.

  1. I think that kitchen and bathroom cleaning are 2 of the toughest things because you really have to be completely detailed as they are 2 of the most commonly used area’s of any home in this world and contain in my thinking the most germs out of every single room.
I believe that you have to use the right products and rags and so forth and make sure to not cross contaminate when cleaning or it can make matters use…But with this check-list i think a few more steps do need to be added to make it complete.
