Picnic Checklist

Something that many people do not do much anymore is go on a picnic! And that’s such a shame so I created a picnic checklist to make it easy. Going on a picnic can be a family event, a great time with friends or even a great date with your partner! However, in order to make sure that you have an amazing time at your picnic there are some things that you’ll want to remember including food, drinks, utensils and something fun as well! Nobody regrets having a fun time when they make sure that they are fully prepared. Remember to pack everything up in a nice picnic basket to make it a true picnic.

Main Dishes for Food

  • Chicken Wings (you may want BBQ sauce or ketchup with these)
  • Hotdogs with Buns (if bringing these don’t forget condiments such as ketchup, mustard, relish, etc.)
  • Lasagna (Pre-Made)
  • Bread, rolls, cold cuts, cheese, condiments or pre-made sandwiches
  • Left over pizza (or any left overs that can be enjoyed cold)

Sides

  • Macaroni Salad or Potato Salad (this could be homemade or even store bought)
  • Hand-Tossed Salad along with Salad Dressing (maybe add in some boiled eggs, bacon bits, cheese and tomatoes)
  • Coleslaw
  • Baked Beans (add in Onions or Cheese for some more flavor)
  • Pasta salad

Snacks

  • Potato chips, tortilla chips, etc.
  • Cut up veggies
  • Fruit
  • Pepperoni stick
  • Cheese and crackers
  • Dips (salsa, veggie dip, guacamole, etc.)

Desserts

  • Homemade Cookies
  • Brownies
  • Candy (for the kids)

Drink Options

  • Water
  • Lemonade
  • Sparkling Grape Juice
  • Apple Juice
  • Juice Boxes (if children will be attending)
  • Cans of Soda
  • Coffee/tea in a thermos
  • Beer and/or wine

Utensils and Extras

  • Paper or Plastic Cups
  • Plastic Forks, Spoons and Knives
  • Paper or Plastic Plates
  • Napkins
  • Wet-wipes
  • Corkscrew/beer opener
  • Knife to cut bread, cheese, pepperoni
  • Condiments
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Sugar (if needed)

For Fun

  • Yard Games (volleyball, bean bag toss, soccer, flag football, Frisbee, baseball and gloves, kickball, dodge ball, etc.)
  • Paper Airplanes
  • Bug Collectors
  • Pinata (children and adults can really enjoy this)
  • Play Hide and Seek
  • Bring pen and paper to make a treasure map or do a treasure hunt
